LAST DAYS AT OXO

the last 2 days at the oxo gallery are on the horizon.. come come and join us tomorrow.. saturady and sunday from 11 to 6!!

bikes with knitty gritty seat covers

Raising the understanding of textile waste issues in soho.. knit bombing guerilla style with knitty gritty.. the bike seat covers of Boris were covered with hand knitted seats and labels to tell everyone about the profligate textile waste the country dabbles in currently..

knit bombing guerilla in disguise

Seat covers for the Boris Bikes .. we put them onto bikes in soho on wednesday.. waited for the bikes to arrive! (the docks were empty when we arrived at 5.50 that morning) each knitted cover had a message about the amount of textiles wasted by going into landfill..

Faizel, his imaginative chairs and collaboration with kids

Faizel talks about creating new structures to reuse ancient deck chairs. 3 methods are in the show, an articulating structure using laundry pegs, which is beautiful and comfortable: The most comfortable piece made from recycled bags, and the witty use of balls in the third deckchair.
These pieces were also part of a self initiated project to engage the interests of, input and skills of youngsters in a school with no DT dept. The kids are really exited to have work that they have collaborated with in a London gallery. Sadly the complexities of bureaucracy has meant they could not visit themselves, but we hope they will enjoy this video clip. .

Pernille talks about her workshops at eco factory

Thankyou Pernille for your series of workshops which have been enjoyed by visitos to eco factory at the Oxo gallery this week.
